Meet the Founder: Mi’Kael Reed, M.Ed.
Mi’Kael Reed is an educator, advocate, and creative visionary whose work lives at the intersection of equity, gifted education, and innovation. With over 11 years of teaching experience across three diverse school districts from Tennessee to Georgia, she has consistently centered her instruction on high-level thinking, student voice, and meaningful engagement for gifted and advanced learners—particularly those who have been historically underrepresented.
Mi’Kael’s journey into gifted education began in 2014 when she accepted a position as a “systems” instructor at a summer camp for gifted students. That early experience sparked a lasting passion for designing transformative learning spaces for gifted youth, especially those whose brilliance doesn’t always fit within traditional models.
Now pursuing her gifted endorsement, Mi’Kael is committed to building programs that not only challenge gifted learners cognitively, but also support their social-emotional growth, cultural identity, and leadership development. Through the creation of LEVEL UP, she brings that mission to life—offering an innovative summer experience that speaks to both the hearts and minds of the students it serves.
LEVEL UP isn’t just a camp—it’s a program built on research-backed best practices in gifted education. Inspired by the standards of the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) and the advocacy work of the Georgia Association for Gifted Children (GAGC), this experience is designed to meet both the cognitive and affective needs of gifted learners. Students engage in inquiry-driven learning, build creative confidence through design challenges, and explore leadership and self-identity in safe, supportive spaces. Every aspect of the program reflects a commitment to equity, access, and whole-child development.
Are you ready to LEVEL UP your summer? Join a one-of-a-kind experience where gifted learners unlock their creativity, dive deep into inquiry-based challenges, and build lifelong connections with like-minded peers!
